The television grim reaper has already come for a number of Netflix shows in 2026.

As of this writing, Netflix has canceled 11 shows from its programming lineup, with five more wrapping up their runs this year.

In a 2023 interview with *Bloomberg*, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos said the streamer has “never canceled a successful show.” However, some viewers might disagree. The streaming giant is known for its heavy hand when it comes to cutting promising shows short, as evidenced by fan backlash over the cancellations of series like *The OA, Mindhunter*, and *Sense8*.

Read on for all 16 Netflix shows coming to an end this year.

In January, *Deadline* reported that Netflix had decided to end *The Abandons,* a Western series fronted by Lena Headey and Gillian Anderson. The series was troubled even before it premiered, with creator Kurt Sutter leaving the production weeks before filming wrapped, reportedly due to creative differences between Sutter and Netflix.

Sutter had some choice words for the streamer amid its decision, posting a heated message to Instagram that read: “Dear Netflix, Next time fear compels you to choose the algorithm over a creator’s vision, remember how that choice unraveled a potentially beautiful project.”

He later deleted that statement and reposted a new one, stating, “The corporate lawyers have been in touch. And I must heed to binding agreements.”

On May 4, Netflix announced that the upcoming fourth season of *The Night Agent* would be its last. Don't call it a cancellation, though — creator and showrunner Shawn Ryan is ending the spy drama on his own terms.

“Ever since the initial success of *The Night Agent*, I’ve been obsessed with eventually delivering a proper and thrilling conclusion to the show and to Peter Sutherland’s journey," Ryan said in a statement.

The third season left fans with plenty of questions. Thankfully, they’ll get answers before saying goodbye.
