A controversial Carrie Fisher horror movie has officially set its 4K UHD and Blu-ray release date. These versions of the movie will also come with some additional features.

According to a recent announcement from Lionsgate, Sorority Row is set to make its 4K Ultra HD debut in a combo pack featuring 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and digital options on September 15, 2026. Pre-orders for the Lionsgate Limited Exclusive SteelBook officially opened today.

The official synopsis for the film reads: “Who’s killing the sisters of Theta Pi? In Sorority Row, making its 4K debut, the sisters of Rosman University’s Theta Pi – Cassidy (Briana Evigan), Chugs (Margo Harshman), Jessica (Leah Pipes), Ellie (Rumer Willis), and Claire (Jamie Chung) – are committed to staying mum regarding the prank that ended in tragedy for Megan (Audrina Patridge), one of their own. But when graduation day arrives, so does terror, as a killer hunts Theta Pi’s sisters one by one. With Carrie Fisher.”

For the fans opting to get the 4K UHD and the Blu-ray versions, there will be some special features. These will include audio commentary from the director and the cast and stories from the set. Furthermore, there will be deleted scenes, theatrical and international trailers, and many more.

Why was Sorority Row with Carrie Fisher controversial?

Sorority Row is a horror-mystery movie that struggled to make an impact at the box office upon its initial release. Despite Fisher’s fabulous supporting performance, the movie could only garner a 24 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer and a 33 percent Popcornmeter score.

The film is directed by Stewart Hendler, while it was written by Peter Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg. Darrin Holender and Mike Karz produced the movie. Apart from Fisher, the cast included names like Margo Harshman, Briana Evigan, Jamie Chung, Rumer Willis, Leah Pipes, and Audrina Patridge. The film was released back in 2009.
