Kourtney Kardashian debuted a '70s-inspired hairstyle

The reality star's hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos shared all the details with PEOPLE

Giannetos says the look was inspired by "the iconic YSL editorial aesthetic"

Kourtney Kardashian is closing out 2025 with a new look.

On Wednesday, Dec. 17, the reality star, 46, debuted a bold hair transformation in an Instagram post from her hairstylist, Dimitris Giannetos.

"New 'the YSL-haircut,'" Giannetos wrote in the caption. "It’s Farrah Fawcett it’s Fashion it’s Feathery it’s Fluffy and it’s 70s!"

In a carousel of three photos, Kourtney poses with a bouncy, center-parted look complete with face-framing layers, emulating the signature look of the late Charlie's Angels actress.

"We took inspiration directly from the iconic YSL editorial aesthetic for Kourtney’s 'YSL Haircut,'" Giannetos tells PEOPLE exclusively. "High fashion and sexy, we knew we wanted to add layers to create dimension and feathery movement in the hair."

The stylist adds, "We used Great Lengths Tape-In Extensions for the perfect color match and to create the full-body feathery '70s look we were going for."

To create the Poosh founder's look, Giannetos started by color-matching the Great Lengths extensions. Then, he sectioned her hair to place layers of the extensions "where more volume is needed."

Then, it was time to style.

"Using a thick curling iron, curl away from the face, switching direction every other layer," he explains. "For the bangs, gather hair together at the crown and curl upwards and back to create the curtain effect

"Finish off with a strong hairspray and a wet brush to enhance shine," Giannetos concludes.

In September, Kourtney showed off fresh bangs — and revealed that she had given herself the look while sick with COVID-19.

"I always get the urge to cut my hair when I have COVID," she wrote in an Instagram Stories post alongside a snap of her hair sitting in a pile on the ground, seemingly after she gave herself a trim.

Kourtney recently opened up about why she'll "never" get Botox again.

On the Thursday, Dec. 18, episode of The Kardashians, the eldest Kardashian sister said it's been years since she's gotten the popular injectable.

“I haven’t got Botox in four years to keep my third eye open," she shared, referring to a figurative eye on the forehead that is thought to be spiritual. After her statement, her younger sister Kim Kardashian replied, "Why are you looking at me when you say this?"

"I’ll never get it again," Kourtney reiterated of her Botox plans.

Kim, 45, said that she got Botox "two nights ago," but tells Kourtney, "Good for you."

Kourtney also added that not getting Botox helps her "intuition."
