Donald Trump’s results from his May physical were released by the White House late Friday evening, as a memo was shared from his physician noting the president is in “excellent health”.
Despite recommending Trump lose some weight and increase his exercise intake, the note overall appears to show the president is doing well health wise, with some interesting claims made by the doctor.
White House physician Dr Sean Barbarella wrote in a letter: “President Trump remains in excellent health, demonstrating a strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological and overall physical health function.” This comes not long after Trump sparked fresh health fears due to his latest social media activity.

Speaking on his mental health, the physician added: “Cognitive and physical performance are excellent. He is fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.”

Dr. Barberella explained that “preventive counseling was provided” during the routine medical exam, “including guidance on diet, recommendation to take a low-dose aspirin, increased physical activity, and continued weight loss”.
The doctor noted the President stands at 6 feet 3 inches tall, weighing in at 238 pounds - up 14 pounds from a previous exam in April 2025.
Alongside his height, his weight brings his BMI in at 29.7. An index of 30 is considered by medical professionals to be obese, while Trump currently stands in the ‘overweight’ category.

Since returning to the White House for his second presidential term in 2025, visible ailments and continued speculation over his health have prompted the White House to divulge on new details on Trump’s physical condition.
Trump's leg is allegedly improving
Last year, the White House said swelling in his legs and ankles was a result of chronic venous insufficiency, a condition in which valves inside certain veins don’t work the way they should, which can allow blood to pool or collect in the veins.

Trump initially attempted to wear compression socks, but found them too uncomfortable to sustain in the long term.
In Friday’s letter, however, the president’s doctor wrote that, during Tuesday’s examination, “slight lower leg swelling was noted, with improvement from last year”.

Another concern has been the notable bruising developing on Trump’s hands throughout recent months, which the White House has chalked up to frequent handshakes and tried to cover up with concealer for the sake of photographs.
Dr Barbarella seemed to back this version of events, saying the bruising was “benign”, “common” and “consistent with minor soft tissue irritation related to frequent handshaking in the setting of aspirin use for cardiovascular prevention”.
Trump's heart is ageing backwards?
As for his heart health, the doctor made a wild claim that Trump’s heart is years “younger” than his actual age. “AI-enhanced electrocardiogram (ECG) analysis estimated his cardiac age… to be approximately 14 years younger than his chronological age,” the medical report reads.
The note confirmed that Trump currently takes aspirin but didn’t provide a dosage. When used for preventive purposes, it’s generally advised to take 81 milligrams of the drug per day.

Trump, however, told the Wall Street Journal in January that he takes more than three times the recommended dose - 325 milligrams - which can significantly increase the risk of bleeding.
“They say aspirin is good for thinning out the blood, and I don’t want thick blood pouring through my heart. I want nice, thin blood pouring through my heart,” he said at the time.
“They’d rather have me take the smaller one [dose]. I take the larger one, but I’ve done it for years, and what it does do is, it causes bruising.”
Overall, the report says nothing abnormal is going on with Trump’s health, claiming he demonstrated strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological and overall health.
“His demanding daily schedule, including multiple high-level meetings, public engagements, and regular physical activity, continues to support his overall wellbeing,” Barbarella penned.
