Rachel McAdams had longtime partner Jamie Linden by her side as she reached a career milestone.

The "Mean Girls" and "The Notebook" actress celebrated getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Jan. 20, as Linden, her "About Time" costar Domhnall Gleeson, her "Send Help" director Sam Raimi and costar Dylan O'Brien, and her parents were among those in attendance to support.

McAdams, 47, and Linden, 45, share a 7-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter. The actress called both Linden and her sister, Kayleen McAdams, her "North Star."

"Thank you for being such a great team," she added, getting emotional. "And keeping me quasi-normal."

Since 1960, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has been honoring famous faces in music, film, TV and more by putting their names on terrazzo and brass stars down Hollywood Boulevard. There are now more than 2,700 stars on the Walk of Fame, a popular tourist destination in Hollywood, California. The Oscar nominee also paid tribute to her late costars, including her "The Family Stone" costar Diane Keaton, as well as "The Notebook" stars Gena Rowlands and Sam Shepard.

"I'd like to thank the stars up above, down here," McAdams said. "The legendary working actors who I was given the great gift to learn from. The ones who are no longer with us. To name a few, pioneering Gena Rowlands, the prolific Sam Shepard and my beloved Diane Keaton, who took me under her wing like I was her own daughter."

Keaton, who died in October, played McAdams' mother in the 2005 ensemble comedy drama. Rowlands, who played the elderly version of McAdams in "The Notebook," died in 2024, while Shepard, who played the father of Ryan Gosling's character Noah in the classic romantic drama, died in 2017.

The Canadian actress said Keaton taught her to hold nothing back.

"She taught me that no matter how long you've been doing this, you have to leave everything you've got on the table," she continued. "Each performance, you must muster up as much love as you possibly can, and then you'll only feel like a dumb-dumb idiot half of the time in life."
