Roads close for opening race at Isle of Man TT

The opening day of racing at the Isle of Man TT is set to get underway around the Mountain Course and road closures will be in place.

The mountain section of the 37.7-mile (60km) course is closed from 09:00 BST and the lower section closed an hour later at 10:00.

The first race of the meeting, the three-lap Superstock TT race 1, is due to set off from the start on Glencrutchery Road at 11:00.

Roads around the course are set to reopen no later than 21:30.

Saturday's programme now features just one race following the cancellation of the first sidecar race of the meeting, when the class was suspended from the 2026 event.

The suspension on safety grounds followed a review of a crash during qualifying that left reigning sidecar champions Ryan and Callum Crowe in hospital.

Racing at the 2026 Isle of Man TT is set to continue until 6 June, when the event culminates with the six-lap Senior TT.
