Whitney Houston had some high-profile men vying for her affection in her heyday, including Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro.
In a resurfaced clip of Houston's 1990 appearance on The Byron Allen Show, the late chart-topping songstress was questioned about her connection to De Niro, 82. At the time, Houston seemingly confirmed that The Godfather icon had been pursuing her "all over the world" after host-turned-media-mogul Allen, 65 asked her about the claim.
Houston joked that De Niro followed her "all the way to London," noting, "I think he was there already and he sent me flowers and everything. He’s been on my case, he’d been sweating me for a little while." Houston was also rumored to have a two-week fling with pop star Michael Jackson around this time.

Host Allen further quipped that De Niro was "chasing" the You Give Good Love crooner, prompting her to share a "funny" story involving the Taxi Driver star.
"It was so funny because he called me the night at Carnegie Hall. When I got off stage, he wanted to talk to me that night," Houston explained, to which Allen remarked, "So you had me, Eddie Murphy and Robert De Niro looking for you at Carnegie Hall."

Allen might've mentioned megastar Murphy, 65, because he and Houston were rumored to have briefly dated in the 1980s before she married her only husband Bobby Brown, 57, from 1992 until 2007.

The Grammy-winning singer appeared to play coy, telling Allen, "Lord have mercy, I’m so popular, I can’t stand it" before she delved into what happened between her a De Niro after her Carnegie Hall performance.
"Yeah, he called me that night. He was a little bit shy so he didn’t want to come to the show," Houston expressed. "He shies away from the public eye. But since then, he had sending me flowers and he wanted to get to know me better. Yeah, right. But he’s going with Toukie. Toukie Smith."
Smith and De Niro were in a prominent romantic relationship from 1988 until 1996, but it seems that even during then, he still had his eyes on Houston.

At the time, De Niro kept trying to get connected with Houston
Later in the interview Houston then divulged that De Niro "wanted to do a movie with her" before clarifying that she was on a nickname basis with the Hollywood icon.
"Bob. Bob wants to do a movie," she remarked, leading Allen to say, "Then you’ll be stuck with him for three months, he’s smart." Houston then laughed, saying, "Ha! I’m looking into it. I think he’s a wonderful actor, one of the best."
Houston and De Niro never got to do a movie together or date before her death at 48 in 2012.
